We had fun celebrating Valentine's Day this year. The Saturday before Valentine's Day we attended the MOPS Pancake Breakfast at church. Usually the kids pig out at this event but this year they were too excited to play with their friends and only asked for 2 plates of pancakes and sausage.
The week of Valentine's Day we made a lot of sweets. We made chocolate fudge with pink and red m&m's, frosted sugar heart cookies, and peanut butter marshmallow treats with reese's pieces. I have been pigging out a lot, especially on the fudge!
On Valentine's Day we exchanged valentines and gave the kids a few treats. Kira was most excited about her new Elsa doll from Frozen and Logan was most excited about his new toothpaste. Jeff usually goes out to Dunkin Donuts to get heart shaped doughnuts for the kids on this holiday but we decided to skip it due to the snow and ice. Instead, we ate heart shaped toast and jam, fruit, and strawberry milk.
My parents babysat the kids in the evening so Jeff and I could go out to eat at Maggiano's. I think this restaurant will always be our favorite place to eat together. It's extra special to us because we had our wedding rehearsal dinner there.
