Apple Picking

We went apple picking the last Saturday in September and had a great time.  We tried out a new orchard this year, Stribling Orchard.  It was pretty nice but hard to navigate.  The kids had fun trying apples from various types of trees.  Both kids wanted to climb a tree but once Jeff stuck them up on the first branch they weren't too sure about going up higher.

Kira had a loose tooth (for about a week) before coming to the apple orchard.  It was barely hanging on to the root so she wasn't even able to bite into an apple.  Jeff gave it a good yank and twist (this grossed me out) and it came right out.  She was so excited and proceeded to eat multiple apples during our time there.

We brought home two bags of apples and have been eating them each day.  I hope to start making some desserts with them as the weather gets cooler.
