In April we went back for a second family trip to Disney World. We were so excited to fly down to Florida to the most magical place on Earth!
We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge this time. We had booked a pool view, bunk bed room with secret hopes of getting a free room upgrade. We were thrilled to find out that we did get a free room upgrade to the savanna view rooms and it also had the bunk beds that we hoped to get for the kids (we had a queen sized bed).
Part of the reason we didn't book a savanna room to start with was because a lot of reviewers said it wasn't worth the extra money. They were wrong, it was amazing. If we go back, I would pay for the savanna view for sure! I was so excited to get back to our room each day and wake up each morning and look out the balcony to see what the animals were up to. We saw giraffes, zebras, antelope, birds, and other hoofed animals. We could even see them at night in the moonlight but they were mostly inactive. We never felt the need to turn on the TV the whole week because the animals were enough entertainment. It was so nice to sit out on the balcony each morning and eat our breakfast and drink coffee while watching the animals.
The Animal Kingdom Lodge was beautiful and had great restaurants. One night the grandparents watched the grandkids so we could go out to eat with my sister and her husband. We ate at one of our favorite restaurants from the last trip, Boma. It was just as good as we remembered. We loved all of the african food and the waitress even made photocopies of all of the recipes they had back in the kitchen. I can't wait to try out some of the recipes.
The kids had fun playing at the pool in the evenings. Logan even started to take his first swimming strokes on our final day!
