Making a Family Memory

At the end of July we went out to dinner with the whole family to celebrate my sister's birthday.  We went to our favorite family restaurant, El Paso, and the three kids were perfectly behaved.  After dinner we headed to Lake Accotink to ride the carousel.

While waiting to ride the carousel, a few drops started to fall.  We didn't think a storm was coming so we crowded near the carousel awning to avoid the sprinkles.  In less than a minute we saw dark clouds quickly moving across the lake and all of a sudden we were in the middle of a downpour.  The car was too far away so we ran towards the bathrooms to find shelter.  We ended up on the wrong side and had no choice but to cram into a tiny nook with no roof.  The kids were crying, we were laughing, I think my mom was screaming.  It was chaotic but pretty funny.  An employee inside the building took pity on us and let us into the office until the rain stopped.  We didn't get to ride the carousel but we made a fun memory.  Kira still says, "Remember the time we got all wet on Liane's birthday?"

 Soaked!

Shelter for 9 people and one stroller!

  1. What a fun memory! Running in the rain is so much fun in the summer! We just discovered El Paso a few years ago and love it too!
