We went into town a couple nights and tried out some new restaurants, both recommendations from Trip Advisor. The #1 restaurant in Cabo (according to Trip Advisor) was a mexican restaurant at an exclusive resort. It lived up to its reputation. The food was amazing and the setting was even better. It wasn't even that expensive. The only bad part of eating there is knowing that I probably won't ever eat there again (I think I've had my fill of Cabo for a while now).
We spent most of our days just hanging out by the pool, relaxing on our balcony, and walking on the beach. You can't swim at most of the beaches in Cabo because the waves are too rough.
We also did two excursions this time - zip lining and whale watching. Both trips were heavily discounted thanks to a couple of the girls that sat through a time share presentation.
The zip lining took place in a dried up river gorge in the desert. It was a fun experience but I don't think I need to do it ever again, once was enough. We also got to do some rappelling, which was fun.
The whale watching was a wonderful experience. It was the end of whale watching season so most of the whales had already migrated up the Pacific coast. There were a handful of whales left, mostly mothers waiting for their babies to get a little bigger before making the trip up north. We had seen the whales from land but it was nothing compared to being on the ocean. The boats we were on allowed us to get right next to the whales, sometimes only a few feet away. I got some pictures and videos of the whales, but they do not fully capture the beauty of these animals. We spent most of the excursion following one set of whales, a mom and baby. They were shy at first and spent most of their time diving deep below the surface. As they got more comfortable, they came up to the surface more often and the baby exhibited a lot of playful behavior. It would wave at us, partially breach (a vertical jump), and roll over. My pictures are lousy because I had my waterproof camera which is so slow. People with iPhones got better pictures.
