Snow Day

Last winter we did not get enough snow to play in and it was starting to look like our snow gear for this year was going to remain unused as well.  Fortunately, we got 1 inch of fluffy snow last week when it was freezing outside.  Kira's school was only delayed 30 minutes and the neighborhood roads were still slick so we decided to let her stay home and enjoy what might be her only chance to play in snow this winter.  This was her first time missing school.  She was sad when I told her she wasn't going, but quickly changed her mood when I told her she was allowed to play in the snow!

Papa took both of the kids on sled rides down our driveway and sidewalk (which is barely a downward slope).  In our neighborhood there are only super tiny hills and extremely steep hills that are better suited to teenagers and adults.  The kids also had a fun time making snow angels.  It was cold so we didn't stay outside too long.  We made hot chocolate when we got inside which ended up tasting more like cold, chocolate milk because I didn't heat it up enough.  Kira liked it, Logan did not.
