We were able to get out on the beach each day, even when the weather was dreary and cold. It was so nice not having to drag all of our stuff very far. We would set up everything in the morning and leave it out all day. We LOVED having a private beach. The public beach was right next to us and packed but we had a lot of space all to ourselves. The water was surprisingly warm for MA.
Kira loved playing in the water with Daddy. Logan loved digging in the sand. Jeff and I loved sitting on a chair and reading but Jeff didn't get to do it as much as me. The water was so calm each morning, I wish I had rented a stand up paddleboard to use.
Halfway through the week a huge amount of seaweed washed ashore. It was gross and started to smell after a few days. We would go out in the morning and try to rake it away but it was hard to do and sometimes it was easier to just let the tide come in and then take it away as it went back out. I talked to some locals and they said they had never seen anything like it in the past 30 years. Lucky us. And of course, it was all gone on the morning we had to leave!
Earlier in the week we found a ton of shells. Later in the week we found a lot of horseshoe crabs.
