National Children's Museum

Last Friday we went with friends to the new National Children's Museum at National Harbor.  Geico was sponsoring a free family night which saved us $40 in admission fees!  The kids had a great time and were perfect ages for most of the activities.  In addition to the various play areas, they had three craft rooms, and a theater where we watched a play about a spider.

It was pretty crowded the first hour we were there but cleared out significantly by 6:30.  I think we will go again the next time they have a free family night but go later in the evening when it is less crowded.  After the museum we went to a new hot dog restaurant down by the water.  Our last stop was the Peeps store where we loaded up on free samples of chocolate and Mike & Ike's.
