Summer Fun

This summer we made a "Summer Fun List" and have been trying to check off everything.  We have a few more to go in our final week of summer.  Some of the things we did were make cake pops, play in the rain, go to the doughnut factory, and have a pajama day.

My sister got me a cake pop maker for my birthday last September and I never used it so I figured this was a good way to force me to open it up!  It was fun and messy but the cake pops were delicious and I think we'll make them again.  I need some more practice so they look a little nicer.  I'm excited to try some of the other recipes in the booklet.  We also had our pajama day on this day so that is why I am wearing sloppy looking clothes.

We had a lot of rain at the beginning of the summer but I kept putting off the playing in the rain activity.  I was starting to get nervous as the summer went on that we would run out of opportunities so when we got a brief rain shower last week I sent the kids out.  The only problem is that they didn't really know how to play in the rain so Jeff had to go out and show them what to do.

Our family loves doughnuts, especially from Shoppers and Dunkin Donuts.  Krispy Kreme doughnuts are not our favorite but we thought it would be fun to visit their store and see the doughnuts being made.  It was a neat experience and we enjoyed some doughnuts for breakfast.  Jeff liked the hot doughnuts but my mom and I thought they were gross.  The kids were happy as long as they had sprinkles.
