North Beach

The weekend after Labor Day we made one last trek to the beach with friends.  Well, not a true beach but it had sand and water.  We decided to try out North Beach, which is on the Chesapeake Bay and one hour east of Springfield.  It cost quite a bit of money to gain admission to the beach, but it was well worth it.  The beach was very clean and had bathrooms and showers.  The weather was perfect and the kids had a fun time playing in the sand.  There were a few half-dead jellyfish in the water but no one was stung.  Jeff and Logan didn't seem to mind but Kira and I were content to just get our feet wet.

After a few hours in the sand we packed up our stuff and walked to an ice cream shop.  North Beach has a very quaint small town to walk through and a really nice boardwalk along the water.  The ice cream and walk on the boardwalk was the perfect ending to a summer beach day!

Kira has started writing simple sentences in a journal (with help) and then gets to draw about what she wrote.  This is what she chose to draw about North Beach:
